The Greek word anapnéo means to breathe again. This photo series is an investigation into what remains inside a person when tension, resulting from trauma in a violent upbringing, is always present. And how someone seeks space; sometimes hesitantly, sometimes decisively.


Athens is an echo of Ismini’s movements. The cracks in the street, the rocks, the shadows and the hard marble bear the same tension as the body that moves through it. In the textures of the city appear as tracks of erosion, friction and recovery.
